A Reluctant Queen
The Love Story of Ester
By Joan Wolf
I requested this book from booksneeze.com in return for an honest review.
This is a story from the bible and Joan writes this novel as a Christian romance, adding many new twists to the bible story loved by many. This novel is sure to be cherished by many people as the author does a great job at writting The Reluctant Queen. She provides many excellent character descriptions, and you learn to love in character in their own ways. She also flawlessly describles the plot.
I managed to finish this book in three days. It would have been sooner, but with my four-month-old son and basement renovations, I could not have dedicated as much time as I would have liked to with this book.
The Reluctant Queen is very inspiring and the love story told between Ester and King Xerxes is very tender. I would recommend this book to anyone who likes reading a good love story.
Ester, a young Jewish girl lives with her uncle as her parents died when she was younger. After the King divorces his wife (she refuses to attend a feast without her veil) he auditions girls to become his new wife. Ester is among these girls, and the King likes her very much and they soon become husband and wife. Ester finds out that the kings advisor, Haman is planning on executing her people (the Jews) so she decides to come forth with her heritage, risking her own life so she can try and save her people.
